Why did you begin studying music?

I had a crush on a girl in 6th grade she said she liked music so I joined the middle school beginning band, at the time I didn’t even know what a band was. My teacher began showing all the instruments available for us to play and something drew me to the saxophone. I have not stopped since and it has become my life, don’t remember what happened to the girl though.

What are you doing with music now?

I play weekly at “The Edge” in Temecula, CA with Darryl Williams and Ricky Lawson. I also have some solo performances at Wineries and other venues in Southern California. I am also constantly writing my own songs to prepare for recording my debut album.

Who are some of your influences?

Dave Koz is my biggest influence and idol. Other influences are: Eric Marienthal, Michael Lington, Richard Elliott, Jeff Kashiwa, Kenny G, Everette Harp, Kirk Whalum, Wayne Braxton, Warren Hill, Eric Darius and many more.

Who have you studied with?

I have received private saxophone lessons from jazz legend Eric Marienthal and Wayne Braxton.

What are some of your goals musically for the future?

I want to get booked to be a sideman for any well known balladeer. I also want to release a debut album and hopefully have a successful career as a solo artist.
