About Teen Jazz and its Creator, Shannon Kennedy
TeenJazz.com, owned and hosted by Shannon Kennedy, has served several different purposes as a website over the last few years. In 2003 when Shannon Kennedy first bought the url teenjazz.com, Teen Jazz was the home page of a band she was in called Night_Vision, but after the band broke up, she later begin using it as her own personal website.
However, with Teen Jazz being the theme of the site, Shannon began changing the purpose of the site to be for Teen musicians, writing articles that gave advice on being a musician and offering hosting to kids who were interested.
As the site continued to develop, the demand for more information about other artists and aspects of music increased. Shannon began several series of music articles on everything from career advice to instrument, CD, and concert reviews. Shannon also began doing interviews with several established musicians to get the inside scoop on how they got to where they are with their careers, and what exactly they are doing in the music business.
Shannon Kennedy is a female jazz saxophone and flute player, Rheuben Allen Saxophones Artist, Beechler Mouthpieces Endorsee, and Rico Reeds Junior Artist in Orange County, CA. She graduated in 2009 from Cal State Long Beach in California with degrees in saxophone performance and marketing. She also has certificates in Music Production and Writing and Web Design. At only the age of 20, Shannon is already a nationally published writer, recording artist, and has released four albums on the record label, Angel Eyes Creations. Shannon also owns a reed case manufacturing company with her father, Dave Kennedy, KenKase Reed Cases.
Shannon Kennedy performs regularly in the San Diego area, LA/Hollywood area and Orange County. She regularly performs at Mission Viejo Christian Church as the tenor saxophonist/EWI player, and occasionally plays saxophone or oboe at Saddleback Church. Current projects as a sideman include co-producing a bossa nova cd, and a gospel cd which might tour in the near future. She is also working on several projects of her own including a duo CD with another artist, as well as her third album as an artist. Shannon plays with her own jazz quartet/trio/quintet, as well as many other ensembles in the traditional jazz, pop, smooth jazz, gospel, and blues styles.
