Setup/Gear/Manufacturer of Instruments:

I play a Yamaha Four Valve Concert Euphonium, a King Three Valve Marching Euphonium and use a Schilke 51 D mouthpiece.

Why did you begin studying music?

I’ve been in band classes since middle school. I never paid much attention to music in elementary school. But once I got in middle school I started band classes. I never knew what my true talent was so I thought I’d try it.[/twocol_one] [twocol_one_last]

What are you doing with music right now?

Currently I am in my high school’s Marching Band and Concert Band. I will be auditioning for my state’s Region Band in January so I’m currently preparing for that.

Who are some of your influences?

One of my influences is Steven Meade. His playing and skill really make me work harder. Another influence is my band director. He plays Euphonium so hearing him play and having him there to encourage me really helps me do my best and honestly without him I wouldn’t be where I am musically.

Who do you/have you studied with?

I’ve only really studied with my middle school and high school band directors and some of their director friends that come from time to time.

What do you plan on doing with music in the future?

I plan on becoming a professional musician and a high school band director with a doctorate degree in music and music education. But I also plan on joining the Carolina Crown Drum Corp and the Macy’s All American Band.
